Project Description
Purpose
The 1st Church of God hadn’t taken on a major building project since the 1970s, and it showed. The popular church lacked the ministry elements that are so necessary today: multi-ministry spaces that appeal to people all week long. A previous classroom wing was demolished to make room for the addition, which includes a large, flexible space for activities and fellowship. When the new building was complete, the existing sanctuary was remodeled to increase seating and provide a state-of-the-art sound booth. “With the significant multimedia upgrade,” says Pastor Gary Brown, “we’re able to enhance the worship experience and become more relevant for young adults.” The church’s new Upward Sports Ministry has further raised its profile in the community.
