Whitewater Crossing was an older, more established church located in
the old part of Cincinnati. The church had multiple, different buildings
which created functionality challenges. In addition, Whitewater’s
mission was changing to be more outward-focused and working to proactively
expand its ministry offerings.
The McKnight Group worked with Whitewater Crossing to locate and assess
new property and then to plan, design and build a new multi-ministry
facility. The original project scope proved to be more costly than
the church anticipated, so McKnight scaled the project to remain in
budget, but still provide an amazing facility from which Whitewater
could grow their membership and ministries.

The McKnight Group designed a multi-ministry building that features
a dynamic and flexible worship space, upscale café, nursery,
offices, classrooms and many other amenities. The church is comfortable
and inviting to the surrounding community and fits perfectly with
their “come as you are” message. The master plan provides
the blueprint for future phases of the church when needed.

“The building was a catalyst to be serious about
our vision for Christ,” says David Vaughan, Senior
Pastor at Whitewater Crossing. Under David’s leadership,
the congregation of Whitewater Crossing has grown from
300 members to over 800 since the completion of the new
building in 2007, which is one of the highest percentages
of growth for any Christian Church in 2008.
