The Vineyard Church of Columbus, Ohio is one of the city’s premiere
churches and the largest Vineyard church in the nation. Their campus
includes multiple building projects totaling over 215,000 square feet
of worship and multi-ministry space.
Since 1992, The McKnight Group has overseen the design and construction
of six phases of The Vineyard, and in 2006, was contracted to plan
and develop the seventh phase – a 50,000 square foot Community
Center.
This project was different than the others. The goal was to provide
a building and ministry where the majority of people in the building
would not be from The Vineyard, but rather from the community.
 
The McKnight Group designed and built the Community Center to be
a multi-functional complex that allows for a tremendous amount
of flexibility. It features an indoor and outdoor children’s
playland, a dance studio, a multi-court basketball facility (including
two full-size high school courts) and a state-of-the-art game room,
all designed for the youth of the community. The building also
features a free clinic that is staffed by doctors, nurses and dentists
from the church.
The growth of The Vineyard Church of Columbus is truly
amazing and is a testament to their vision of being a
relevant church – a church that does not exist
for itself, but for Christ and for the world. Their worship
center seats over 3,000 and Sunday service attendance
regularly surpasses 6,000. The Community Center is an
outreach facility with after school care, food, athletics,
gymnastics, and computer classes. It serves as a dynamic
tool in developing life-changing relationships and is
an epicenter for community functions.
The mission of Vineyard Columbus Community Center is
to transform the city of Columbus by love and good deeds
for the glory of God, extending the truth, power and
love of the Gospel to build friendships with our city,
one life at a time.
